Received confirmation email or cancellation email for appointment I did not schedule

Many of our patient's schedules are extremely busy and a majority of our visits are conducted via telehealth.  To ensure continuity of care part of our office policy for established patients is to "pre-reserve" any future appointments that are recommended as part of your treatment plan.

For example if the doctor recommends as part of your treatment plan that you have a followup visit for an annual exam and an nutritional group then this treatment plan goes to our central scheduling department to reserve 2 future appointment slots for you.

We stress to patients that these reservations for appointments are just that--reservations.  They are NOT fully confirmed appointments until a visit check in is received by the appropriate check in deadline to confirm the appointment.

If the office pre-reserves an appointment for you that you do not check in for then our teams will assume that that the time/date that was pre-reserved for you does not work for your schedule and the appointment will be cancelled to allow other patients to book that slot.  If this happens our office will generate a case to call you and reschedule that pre-reserved appointment for another date/time that works best for your schedule.

Cancellation fees are not applicable for pre-reserved appointments that are cancelled by the office for no check in and no cancellation fees are applicable if a patient cancels a pre-reserved appointment slot because it doesn't work for their schedule.  We just recommend that patients don't forget to reschedule the appointment to a time date that works better for their schedule.
