Taking My Imaging Orders To A Different Facility

There may be instances where you are issued an order by the office for a imaging study but for reasons such as network status, logistics or convenience you may wish to take your order to a different facility.

If this situation occurs the office will not automatically issue you another order with the new facilities name as in most situations patients can use the old order at the new facility.  That is why we recommend that if you need to change the facility of your imaging study that you contact that facility and ask them if they will be able to accept the original order with the other facilities name and provide them with the reason why you are changing facilities.

If the facility requires an updated order reflecting their name they must send a faxed request to our office requesting a new order be issued for your imaging study directly.  We cannot process requests to change the facility on an already approved order without a direct request from the new facility.  This means if your new facility needs an updated order then we must receive that written request from the facility not the patient (for documentation purposes).  The office can only issue an updated order to a new facility when contacted directly by that facility and within 7 days of appointment without an additional billing to insurance or patient for services provided not while in office.
